New Zealand Rugby CEO Mark Robinson is swapping the boardroom for the clubhouse this ANZAC Day, making a special appearance at the Whangamata Rugby and Sports Club for an evening of insights, stories, and open discussion.
A familiar face around Whangamata, Robinson considers the Coromandel his sanctuary — a place to unwind with family at his bach, away from the demands of leading the national game. Now, he’s giving back to the local community that means so much to him.
Hosted by the Red and Whites Supporters Club, the evening kicks off with drinks and nibbles at 5.30pm, followed by a Q&A session at 6.45pm, moderated by club manager Peter Gilbert. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome.
Robinson will speak on the current state of rugby both at home and abroad, with a special focus on grassroots rugby — a cause close to the heart of every club member. From global challenges to community-level wins, nothing is off the table.
Robinson took the reins as NZR CEO in January 2020 after serving seven years on the NZR Board and representing New Zealand at World Rugby. A former All Black with nine Test caps, he also played professionally in the UK and Japan. Off the field, he holds degrees from Victoria University of Wellington and Cambridge University.
There’ll be raffles and fundraising on the night, so bring your wallet and support your local team.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from the man at the top of New Zealand Rugby — and ask the questions you’ve always wanted answered.
