A sea of green, music and community pride filled the Paeroa RSA on Friday evening as locals gathered to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

The event brought together members and visitors for a night of entertainment, dress-ups and recognition of community efforts, with many attendees embracing the occasion in festive outfits.

A highlight of the evening was a presentation led by Ellen Henderson, President of the Women’s Section of the Waihi RSA, who awarded two certificates.

One recognised donations raised in support of the Purple Poppy — a symbol honouring animals that served and died during wartime. The second acknowledged the Paeroa group for having the highest number of Women’s Section members in a small RSA club.

Live music from John Hallett and Charlie Gribble kept the celebrations going, providing entertainment for several hours and adding to the lively atmosphere.
