The National Party has confirmed Scott Simpson as its Coromandel candidate for the 2026 General Election.
“I am delighted to have been re-selected as National’s candidate for the Coromandel electorate for the 2026 General Election, ” Simpson said.
“Our electorate is home to many towns and communities, each with their own opportunities and challenges. It is without a doubt the best place to live, work and play, and representing the people who call it home is an immense privilege.”
“As the Local Member of Parliament since 2011, this isn’t a role or responsibility that I take lightly, and I look forward to earning the trust of the electorate once again.”
“The Government was elected on the promise to get the country back on track, and we remain focused on growing the economy and managing the country’s books responsibility. We have cut wasteful spending, inflation is under control, and our trade balance is in surplus after four years of deficits.”
“There’s still plenty of work to be done, but I am proud to be part of a Government which is committed to fixing the basics and building a future where New Zealand and New Zealanders can thrive, ” he added.
