Residents are being invited to enjoy an evening of comedy, food and fundraising when popular New Zealand comedian and broadcaster Te Radar brings his latest show, Kiwi Country – Rural New Zealand in 100 Objects, to Mangatangi this month.
The event will be held at Mangatangi Hall on Thursday, July 16, from 6.30pm, with all proceeds supporting the Maramarua Rugby Club.
Organised by the Mangatangi Maramarua Catchment group, the show offers a humorous and insightful look at rural New Zealand through a collection of artefacts, gadgets and memorabilia that help tell the story of life in the country’s heartland.
Described by the New Zealand Herald as “Te Radar’s best show yet”, Kiwi Country celebrates the places, people and curiosities that have shaped rural communities across Aotearoa.
Tickets are $30 per person and include a barbecue meal and entry to the show, making it an affordable night out while supporting a local cause.
The fundraiser is backed by Farmstrong and the Waikato Hauraki Rural Support Trust, with organisers encouraging residents from across the district to attend.
“This is a 100 per cent community fundraiser, so every ticket sold helps support the Maramarua Rugby Club while providing a great night of entertainment,” organisers said.
